Passport: A valid passport that is issued within the last 10 years and has a validity of at least 3 months after the scheduled return. It should have minimum 2 blank pages. The passports which have observations regarding the front data page cannot be accepted.
Photographs: 2 recent matt-finished photographs with white background. It should be an 80% face close up and 35mm x 45mm in size
Application Form: Visa Application Form should be duly filled and signed.
Covering letter: A covering letter from the applicant mentioning their name, designation, passport no., purpose and duration of visit in brief. It should be duly signed by authorised signatory with company stamp. For self-employed/businessmen, the letter should be on plain paper and for employed individuals it should be on company’s letterhead. The letter should be addressed to ‘The Consulate General of Italy’.
Insurance: Travel Insurance with coverage of EUR 30,000 and inclusive of a repatriation clause. Minimum 10 days insurance is mandatory from the travel date.
Accommodation: Proof of accommodation for your entire stay in the Schengen area

Documents from Inviter:
An invitation letter from the inviting company on its letterhead stating the purpose and duration of stay. It should be duly signed with signatory’s name and designation along with stamp of the company. The letter should be addressed to ‘The Consulate General of Italy’.
Passport: Original passport with a validity of at least 6 months. It should have minimum 2 blank pages for visa stamps. Copy of the 1st and last pages of the passport should be attached.
Photographs: 2 semi-matt or matt-finished coloured photographs with white background and without any border. It should be a 60-80% face close up and 35mm x 45mm in size. The photos should not be older than 3 months; should not be scanned or stapled; and should not have been used in any of the previous Visas.
Application Form: Filled and signed Visa Application Form. Applicants, who have appeared for biometric after November 2015, do not need to reappear.
Covering letter: An original covering letter from the applicant stating their name, designation, passport no. purpose and duration of visit in brief. It should be duly signed by authorised signatory with company’s seal. For self-employed/businessmen, the letter should be on plain paper and for employed individuals it should be on company’s letterhead. The letter should be addressed to ‘The Visa Officer’.
Insurance: Medical insurance for the stay duration with EUR 30,000 coverage. It should be from an authorised insurance company.

Note: All documents are mandatory as per this above list. Make sure your application is complete. Incomplete applications result in visa refusal and delays in processing by the embassy consulate. The Embassy may ask for additional documents/personal presence while processing the Visa application/s. In certain cases embassy/consulate may take more processing time.
